Aether Release Notes
This is version 1.1.4 of Aether. This release includes bug fixes and support for new contests. Changes in this release are listed below.
Improvements
- Aether DB is now used as the default file format when importing more than 200 QSOs from an ADIF or Cabrillo file.
- The Google Maps button and menu item are now available even when the current QSO doesn't have latitude and longitude filled in, as long as some part of the address is filled in.
Bug Fixes
- "Document has been moved" alert no longer appears when importing an ADIF or Cabrillo file under Snow Leopard.
- Improved QRZ.com subscriber settings and login interface.
- Fixed a bug that caused several links in the built in help to be broken under Snow Leopard and later versions of Leopard.
- Fixed a bug that could cause Cabrillo import to fail in very rare cases.
- When importing an ADIF file in which time_off is used to specify QSO times, Aether properly reads this field. If both time_on and time_off fields are specified for a QSO, time_off is used.
- Fixed a problem that caused some help pages to fail to display when Aether is running under OS X 10.6 Snow Leopard.
- Support for a few new QSO parties with many more to come in the final release of Aether 1.1.4
- Sent serial numbers are no longer automatically generated when exporting Cabrillo files for ARRL Sweepstakes. Behavior is now the same as for other contests including a serial number, that is Aether simply uses the serial number included in the TX Exchange for each QSO.
- Cabrillo export for ARRL Sweepstakes no longer fails if TX exchange is missing or malformed in any QSOs in a log.
- All contest info fields are filled in when importing a Cabrillo file. Multi-line Soapbox fields are also correctly imported now.
- The QSL info/mailing label feature can now be used in the Italian localization of Aether, though the text in the interface still needs to be translated into Italian.
- Callsigns with an HB9 prefix are now correctly identified as being from Switzerland.
- Other miscellaneous minor bug fixes.
Known Issues
- Power setting is not read from most Yaesu rigs. This is because most Yaesu rigs do not support reading this data over the CAT connection. The power field will be hidden for these Yaesu rigs in a future update.
- VoiceOver will not read the time field's value. This is a known issue and will be fixed in a future update.
- Updates are needed for new features in the Italian localization of Aether.
